Because a smile is the most important accessory one can wear. In November 2019, MDMI inaugurated the Dental Department.
The Dental Department at MDMI offers emergency dental care. It was officially inaugurated on the 15th November 2019 with the support of organizations like Carestream, Sendoline, Astek, and mydentist.uk. Volunteer dentists, Thanaa Abdullah and Hamera Hussain, along with volunteer dental nurse Connie Mattock, travelled from the UK to provide treatment to the children of the local orphanage, SOS Village whilst also training the local staff and helping with the set-up of the Dental Clinic.
I would urge all health professionals, even those that can only offer a day or two to definitely come and volunteer. Your biggest expense will be the plane ticket. The remaining costs are minimal but the experience is rewarding and satisfying.
The staff at MDMI will provide dental services, alongside volunteers visiting from UK, free of charge to Zakat eligible people of the region. The volunteer doctors will also help in further training and education of the staff with latest world class techniques and maintain high levels of patient care that MDMI constantly strive to reach. The team will also provide regular check-ups and dental care to the children of the SOS Children’s Village.
The MDMI dental department is equipped with fully integrated computer software. Seamless care means working with paediatrics and our surgical team, together with your support, we envisage the set-up of an Oral Digital X-ray system and a Maxillofacial Surgery with inception of a highly specialised cleft lip and facial reconstruction service in due course.
Women’s Health
With a specially dedicated service at MDMI, we are able to assist females from local and remote villages with any gynaecological concerns whilst also raising awareness with regards to hygiene and menstrual well-being. Read article
