The Prone pillow, an important adjunct to the treatment of patients in the ICU, allows the patient to be maneuvered in the ICU to place them in the Prone position allowing to buy them valuable time in order to fight COVID. One of the most important maneuvers required not just in the Critical Care patient, and High Dependency patient but even in the Low Dependency patients is the Prone position. The Prone position can help to optimize oxygenation and clearly the overweight patient is higher risk of respiratory failure and particularly at higher risk of COVID-19 infection.
The pillow as seen in the diagram allows the patients to be move comfortable in the Prone position to reduce the pressure on the eyes and forehead area and also reduces chances of bruising due to the pressure on the face when the patient is in such a position.
